INSEPARABLE

Day 23 – Who He Says I Am Series

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

– Romans 8:38-39

In Christ –

YOU ARE INSEPARABLE FROM THE LOVE OF GOD

Do you remember the moment you realized you have been saved?  Do you remember the moment when in your heart you recognized His Love rescuing you?  Throughout my life, I have said that happened to me at 8 years old, because at 8 years old I had a dream that Jesus reached His hand out of Heaven and extended it down to me and I reached up to grab it. When I touched His hand, there was incredible peace, love, grace, and care that overwhelmed me. I woke up and knew that I wanted to belong to Him forever. I prayed right then and there in my bed by myself. I don’t remember all the exact words and the exact words don’t even matter, but I know that among the things I prayed, I asked Him to let me be with Him forever and to take care of me and guide me throughout my life. I prayed that it would be His life living through me every day from that point forward. Even though this was a very big moment in my life because I had this vivid dream and was baptized shortly after, I actually don’t remember a time in my life that I didn’t have a relationship with Jesus. Even well before that, He was always with me in my earliest memories and I knew that anything good that I received in my life – love, kindness, blessings, came from Him. He was my safe place. Think now about your moment. The moment you were awakened to His love. What did you hear, see, think, or feel? Let Holy Spirit take you back there and remind you today of His incredible grace, love, forgiveness, acceptance, redemption, and freedom. Everything that you received in that moment is still yours today. Too many times, I think we try to boil salvation down to a moment in time. Believing that it happened once and when that moment is over and time passes and our behavior doesn’t match that moment, we start to wonder if it was even real. But the fact is that your salvation moment didn’t have an end. He’s always been wooing you and He always will. That moment of awakening was the start of the realization of your New Creation life, not merely a temporary or fleeting point in time. The apostle Paul declares in Galatians 2:20 that “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” This declaration is true for every believer. Rest in your union in Him. It is Christ who is doing the living in your unique body, personality, situation, relationships, family, job, and decisions. When He created you, He saw you as good. He saw you as His desired dwelling place. He is not mad at you when you mess up; He is mad about you and He is moved with compassion to help you out of the situation. He is a part of you. He is not at war with you. He is dwelling in you to help you and lead you and guide you. You are inseparable from Him. You are inseparable from His love. John reminds us in his gospel to “Behold the Lamb who takes  away (removes) the sin of the world!” (John 1:29) Jesus took away all of your sin. It doesn’t separate you from the love of God. In fact, nothing does. You can never be separated from God.

INSEPARABLE FROM GOD – is your Identity!

Daily Reminder

You don’t have to work to be Inseparable From God, you already are Inseparable From God because Christ gave you a new identity. His identity. This is who you are because of who He is, not who you have to try to become.

– Religion tells us what to do to become, which equals self reliance – the focus is on self.

– The truth of the Gospel tells us who we are because of who Jesus is and what He did – the focus is on Jesus.

Good News  – Our Father in heaven is pleased with you because of what Jesus did – it all hinges on Him not us.

We are in union with Christ (1 Corinthians 6:17). When our Daddy in heaven looks at you, He sees Jesus, and He is nothing but pleased. (Matthew 3:17)

Rest in Him today

Lord Jesus,

Thank You for living in me at all times. Thank You for not leaving me when I mess up. Thank You for staying with me through it all and guiding me into all wisdom and truth. It’s Your heart and Your love that sustains me and gives me strength. Thank You Jesus!
